Thoreau's View of Technology

According to Thoreau's view technology goes against the natural order of the world. Yes and no, I agree with the fact that technology bring problems to the world but without technology we would still be primitive and we need technology now daily. The advantages of technology are better understanding of everything, easy way of transportation, and more innovated way of finding cures for diseases. The disadvantages are pollution and everyday obsession with technology. I use car, computer, lights, and so on. I can go for a day without technology to an extent.

Civil Disobedience

I'm against the idea of so much money being fueled in the wars and how almost no money is going to the school of United States all around. A way to solve this I think would be to focus more on state unity between different states of the world. We can use Thoreau's idea of not paying taxes for wars we don't support.

In the song by Rage Against the Machine, it is talking about civil rights protecters. People who protect the people from abuse authorities and fight for the rights of the people.

Binder Check

1. Yes, I have fairly organized my binder. I divided everything into places such as SAT packets, book work, and others.

2. In this years classes I think we are more into books since we take up more time to read in class and tae time to discuss it. Similar things from last years English classes are new words we learn and have hot seat which isn't very fun for me cause I can't remember the words that well.

Bradbury's writing style

Ray Bradbury's writing style is very unique. He uses many different visuals to help picture the events that are going on in fine detail. He also uses many metaphors too. His way of using symbols is very interesting because you would never imagine a salamander as a symbol, but a mirror yes because a mirror is used a lot of reflect back on you and your life.

Science Fiction

Science fiction a made up story that has some possibility of becoming true with the help of science to make it reality. A author I know that is a science fiction writer is J.K Rowling, the book Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is an excellent example of it. A setting of science fiction is future of alternative timelines, like time travel.
